A typical Heat Pump Spring Maintenance involves the following actions and inspections:

• Check the filter

• Inspect the evaporator coil for contamination

• Clean the drain pan

• Clean the condensate trap and drain line

• Inspect the indoor blower & check blower speed

• Check blower unit's electrical connections

• Check ductwork

• Check the outdoor coil for contamination

• Inspect the outdoor unit's electrical controls & connections

• Inspect the Run Capacitor

• Inspect the outdoor unit's open interior components

• Run system and test the amp draw on the compressor and the fan motor

• Perform a refrigerant system performance diagnosis testing for proper factory specified super-heat and sub-cooling 

•  Test reversing valve

• Perform a temperature differential test of the conditioned air
