The Armstrong outdoor units are very quiet, with no rattling noises. All of their units have a compressor insulation jacket, a very well thought out frame and louver design, that keeps the vibrations away. This frame design also allows your technician to very easily clean the outdoor coils during maintenance, without disturbing the units integrity.

The indoor Air Handlers & Furnaces follow suite with well though out circuitry, with built in analysis troubleshooting, and are all very quiet with zero vibration. All evaporator coil are made of aluminum coils and aluminum fins for zero rust!

Heat Pump Replacement

Armstrong offers its PRO Series of high quality, high efficiency Heat Pump Replacement Systems for those who want the best in their comfort system. 

In order below, are our recommendations for Heat Pump Replacement. Efficiency & pricing go together, so all value oriented equipment will be the single speed models toward the bottom of the list.

White River Electric now offers Rebates for Duel Fuel systems ranging from $300-$500 per ton, so make sure to consider this type of system if you have natural gas, or currently have at least a 250 gallon propane tank. You may also want to investigate a propane service provider. Dual fuel operates the heat pump in mild weather, and automatically switches to a gas furnace in the colder weather, and during the heat pump's defrost. A standard Heat Pump uses electrical heating elements as a supplemental heat source, so the gas furnace acting as the supplemental heat can is a desired option. A gas furnace operates on 115V, and is easily adapted to a small generator to provide a source of power during a winter storm!

There are three Air Handler indoor unit selections available to you in pairing the 14+ PRO Series outdoor unit. Armstrong's standard air handler is the basic economy model. To gain more efficiency we can pair the outdoor unit with an ECM type blower motor. For the ultimate in comfort, and increased de-humidification, we pair the outdoor unit with a Variable Speed Blower indoor unit. This pairing is highly recommended. ​Nothing can take the place of a properly sized Heat Pump on the cooling side. Obviously a system too small will not reach your desired temperature. An over-sized system will cool the home too fast, thereby not allowing enough running time to remove humidity. Several test can be done, along with a Load Calculation to determine the best size for your home. The Variable Speed Air Handler has a program to lower, then raise the fan speed in a calculated manner to lower the temperature of the evaporator coil, so when the warm moist air hits the very cold coil, more humidity is removed. These Air Handlers, when connected to Armstrong's A3 Thermostat can also control the humidity via a humidity sensor within the Thermostat.
